The Culver Lions Club recently announced the sponsorship of the Father’s Day Poker Ride.  All proceeds from the ride will be used to support one of the club’s many charitable endeavors.  They currently support Sight programs, Blood donation activities, Reading programs as well as many youth programs.

The Father’s Day Poker Ride will be held June 18th, Father’s Day. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Culver Depot and the first riders out will be at 8:30 a.m.  The entry fee will be $20 per person.  A lunch for riders will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Helmets will be required for this event.

There will be five different rider groups with mileages ranging from 10 miles up to 50 miles.  Each rider or group of riders will accumulate playing cards to complete a 5 card poker hand.  The best poker hand in each group will win 30% of the entry fees from that group.

The five groups are (1) Carbon Fibers, 50 miles or 5 laps around Lake Maxinkuckee.  Riders will receive a card for each lap completed, (2) Road Groups of 3, 2 laps, a card for each rider for each lap, (3) Father and son, 2 laps, (4) Women’s ride, 2 laps and Individual riders, 1 lap.
