Red Rock NarcanOn June 1, 2017, Indiana State Troopers were working in the area of the Red Rock Inn located on Michigan St in Plymouth.  Master Trooper Jason Faulstich and Master Trooper Michael Gruett responded to a 911 call reporting a possible heroin overdose at the Red Rock Inn. Upon arrival to the motel room a male subject was located on the floor.  The subject was not breathing and had no pulse.  A female subject in the room that had called 911 informed troopers that the subject had used heroin.  Faulstich administered an initial dose of Narcan upon arrival to the room with no response.  Faulstich administered a second dose of Narcan, again with no response.  Gruett started CPR on the subject as he was still unresponsive.  Approximately 2 minutes into CPR, the subject began to breath and a pulse was located.  Plymouth EMS arrived at the scene to relieve the Troopers and take over medical care.  The subject was transported to the St. Joseph medical center in Plymouth for observation and later released.

Drug paraphernalia and heroin were located in the motel room.  A follow up investigation is underway and the case will be presented to the Marshall County Prosecutors office for review and possible criminal charges.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Plymouth EMS and Fire, and Plymouth Police Department.
