Free_Fishing_WeekendThis weekend is the last chance in 2017 for adults to fish for free in Indiana.

On these special days, Indiana residents who are age 18 and older can fish public waters without needing a fishing license or a trout stamp.

Free Fishing Weekend is a great opportunity to take someone fishing who doesn’t already have a license. It’s also a great time to teach families how to fish because adults don’t need a license on those days, and kids younger than age 18 never need a license.

DNR properties and other sites across the state will be hosting youth and family fishing events, most of which are on June 3.  In this area participating locations include Potato Creek state Park in North Liberty (574-656-8186); Tippecanoe River State Park in Winamac (574-946-3213); the Elkhart River in Elkhart (574-294-5471); Mississinewa Lake in Peru (765-473-6528); and the Ox Bow County Park in Goshen (574-875-7422)
