North Central Indiana Food Distribution_1Wanting to make a difference in the community, Bill and Gloria Espich and several of their retired friends created the North Central Indiana Food Distribution on Hoham Drive in Plymouth.  This food distribution center has been operating for about 5 years and provides monthly distributions of food products to 12 to 14 pantries mainly in Marshall County.

North Central Indiana Food Distribution_2North Central Indiana Food Distribution receives food items from Feed the Children and the local Del Monte plant in Plymouth.  They also purchase food items from Indiana Restaurant Buyers Network (IRBN) in South Bend at a discounted price. The center then palatalizes the food for distribution on the 3rd Friday of each month.  The average weight of each pallet is 800 to 1,000 pounds.

North Central Indiana Food Distribution_3The food is picked up by the Neighborhood Center, Bread of Life Food Pantry, the pantry at the St. Joe Health Center, the Boys & Girls Club, Marshall Starke Development Center and many church pantries.

North Central Indiana Food Distribution_4As a special treat, Plymouth FOP Lodge 195 donated 150 Easter Baskets that were filled with candy from the distribution center and goodies provided by the FOP and WTCA.  The baskets were put together by Delta Theta Tau.

North Central Indiana Food Distribution is a not-for-profit and would gladly accept donations to purchase food for disbursement.  They are also a United Way agency.
