FIre Department buildingPlymouth’s Fire Chief Rod Miller presented members of the Board of Public Works and Safety with his monthly report during their March 13th meeting.

Firefighters and Emergency Medical staff responded to 162 calls in February.

The fire side of the report shows the Plymouth Fire Department responded to 3 structure fires, 3 grass fires, 3 rubbish fires and 1 flammable spill.  Also on the list was 1 car fire, 1 call for smoke, 1 unintentional system operation and 1 fire listed as other.

There were 127 Emergency Medical Service incidents and 7 assists last month.

Emergency responders were dispatched and cancelled en route 11 times, responded to 2 false alarms and 1 wrong location with no emergency found.

Taking a look at incidents by district you find 114 calls in Plymouth, 23 in West Township, 17 in Center Township, and 1 each in LaPaz and Polk Township.  Paramedic assists in February were 2 each for Argos, LaPaz and Walkerton.

A total of 142 hours of training were accumulated in February between the two departments.
