Coats Friend of Farm BureauIndiana Farm Bureau has presented Senator Dan Coats with the “Friend of Farm Bureau” award. Senator Coats represents Indiana in the United States Senate, where he serves as Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee.

Friend of Farm Bureau recipients are nominated by their state Farm Bureau organization based on their support of national priority issues, and are then approved by the American Farm Bureau Federation’s board of directors.

Coats aligned with AFBF on several priority issues in the 114th Congress, including opposition to the death tax and EPA’s ill-conceived Waters of the U.S. rule. He also stood up for Hoosier farmers by supporting international trade, more specifically the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement.

Friend of Farm Bureau awards are separate from the endorsements made by Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT, the nonpartisan political action committee associated with Indiana Farm Bureau.
