With this week’s registration of Jennifer Sickmiller as the City of Plymouth representative on the Plymouth Community School Corporation School Board of Trustees, the school corporation is seeking someone to finish out her term. According to statue, the vacant position must be filled within 30 days from Sickmiller’s resignation of October 5th.

 

There is specific criteria to nominate oneself including: a nominee must live inside the city limits for at least the last year and you must write a letter to the board identifying why you would like to be chosen to fulfill the term. The nominee must be available to be interviewed by the board on October 25th with interviews starting at 6 p.m. and running until all are interviewed.

 

The nominee must be at the November 1st school board meeting starting at 7 p.m. At that time the board will vote in open session on their choice with the nominee receiving the most votes taking their seat that evening, be sworn in, and be eligible to take part in the school board meeting that evening.

 

Nominations should be sent to Todd Samuelson and Dan Tyree at 611 Berkley Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Letters must be received by Tuesday, October 18th at 4 p.m.

 

Nominees will be notified of their interview time by Monday, October 24.
