flash-flood-watchThe National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rainfall for several counties in Northern Indiana including Marshall County. Rain will be moving in this afternoon-evening. We will be under a Flash Flood Watch beginning at 2pm today.
Hazards: 2 to 4 inches of rain possible across the flash flood watch area from this afternoon through Tuesday afternoon. Localized rainfall amounts in excess of 4 inches is possible.
• Timing: Heaviest rainfall is expected late this afternoon into tonight when 1 to 2 inch per hour rainfall rates are possible.
• Confidence: Medium to High. High confidence in some locations receiving heavy rainfall, but medium confidence in exact locations to receive the heaviest rain/flash flood threat.
• Other Impacts: Some lowland, small stream, and urban flooding is expected across portions of the flash flood watch area.
• Some minor flooding is a possibility along larger rivers depending on exact rainfall amounts.

Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water on highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.
