PHS_Rockpile_PressBox_1Renovations to the Rockpile Stadium at Plymouth High School continue to move forward over the summer season.

 

PHS_Rockpile_PressBox_2On Tuesday the new press box was hoisted by a crane to its position at the top of the new grandstands. The press box measures 54 feet long and 10 feet wide and features three internal rooms with a 7 foot wide walkway at the rear of the press box to allow access to the individual rooms.

 

The new press box has space at each end for the coaches from both teams to be inside out of the weather elements and away from the fans. Another feature this facility offers is heating and cooling units which the old one didn’t have.

 

PHS_Rockpile_Rendering_1The press box also features windows that slant from the bottom to the top out toward the field allowing for better viewing up and down the field.

 

PHS_Rockpile_Rendering_ArielCost for the press box was bid at $143,000 and $9,125 for heating and cooling units.

 

PHS_Rockpile_Rendering_enteranceThe bid for the home grandstands was $522,000 with $29,550 for the bleacher jersey and $8,750 for the riser board facade.
