U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly released the following statement after CTS Corporation announced plans to stop production at its Elkhart, plant and move up to 230 Hoosier jobs to foreign countries.
Donnelly said, “This is disappointing and concerning news, and I will be looking to learn more about what factors drove CTS Corporation’s decision. The strength of our communities is built on good middle-class jobs, and I stand ready to assist the workers and families who will be impacted.”
Donnelly recently released a white paper and offered a series of policy recommendations intended to prevent the further offshoring of Hoosier and American jobs. The proposals would penalize those that offshore jobs to foreign countries and reward companies that invest in the U.S. His efforts come on the heels of additional evidence that the American middle class is shrinking.
