Walters also led in digs with 22 followed by Smith’s nine. Samantha Brenneman had one block solo and Samantha Albers and Bush had a block assist.

Coach Singleton was especially pleased with how the girls played together. “I was really excited to see the girls pull together and play well as a teamtonight. Prairie State has a new team, new coach and some solid players; our girls did a good job in their roles and we did not have many missed assignments.”

“I thought the middles played the best I have seen them play this season,” said Singleton. “Albers and Brenneman did a really nice job for us tonight. Bayli Fearnow entered the game when we had a girl go down with an injury and really went in and played smart for us. Setters and hitters started to click tonight and to only have seven hitting errors the entire match is pretty good. Natalee Walters dug some amazing balls for us on defense tonight as Prairie State has some pretty heavy hitters. Xalina Gonzalez played a good team role tonight and had her best match to date as well.  I am excited the direction this team is heading.”

The Lady Chargers will play again on Monday, August 31st at home against Grace College JV. Game time is set for 6:30p.m.
