Sheriff_SUVOn Thursday, July 2 at approximately 12:30 in the morning a traffic stop was conducted by County Officer Jordan Rans on Oak Drive north of Hoham Drive.   During the traffic stop it was learned that the driver, 34 year old Sampson P. Barnes of South Bend, was operating the vehicle with a suspended-prior driver’s license. Further investigation lead to the discovery of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The front seat passenger, 40 year old Richard A.T. Barnes also of South Bend was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Sampson Barnes was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Driving While Suspended with a Prior, Possession of Marijuana, and OWI.

Richard Barnes was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for possession of marijuana.
