Crash_US30&Queen_1West bound traffic on U.S. 30 was snarled for several hours Saturday morning after two semis crashed just east of the intersection with Queen Road.

About 7:35 the Marshall County 911 Center received several calls of accident with one indicating one of the semis was on fire.  The caller also indicated that both drivers were out of their vehicles.

County Officer Matt Brown investigated the crash and noted that the rear semi was fully engulfed in flames when he arrived.  During the investigation is was learned that a 2008 Freightliner driven by a man from Round Lake, IL was westbound and came upon a 2012 Mack semi driven by a man from Ontario that had been stopped at the light.

Fred Lunsford said he was unable to avoid the collision and struck the rear of the Mack semi.

Both drivers were checked by Plymouth EMS on the scene and were released.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth Fire and EMS, Plymouth Police and Reichert & Knepp Wrecker service.

US 30 west of Queen Road was shut down for a couple of hours while cleanup was completed.
