DellsPictureThe Plymouth Boys Basketball Varsity and Junior Varsity teams recently traveled to Wisconsin Dells for their annual off-season tournament to compete in the 2015 Dells Classic at the Justagame Fieldhouse.  The Junior Varsity team finished runner-up as they lost in the championship to a varsity team from Cleveland, MN by the score of 47-42. The varsity team defeated Hillboro, WI by the score of 47-44 in the Varsity Championship bracket.  There were 11 Junior Varsity teams and 18 Varsity teams at the Dells Classic representing the states of Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and North Dakota.

The JV team finished 3-1 in pool play to earn a #2 seed by defeating Goshen (40-31), Mabel Canton (38-18), and Siren (59-9). Their lone loss came to Cleveland in pool play by the score of 51-50.  In the tournament bracket the JV team earned a bye in the first round, then defeated Delaven Darien by the score of 54-37 to advance to the championship game where they lost a close one to Cleveland.  JV team members on the trip included Clay Hilliard, Cole Filson, Cam Dennie, Tommy Holloway, Payton Skirvin, Brady Holiday, Sean Masson, and Travis Owen.
The varsity team also went 3-1 in pool play, losing their opening game of pool play by the score of 51-49 in OT to Jamestown.  The Pilgrims regrouped to defeat Wisconsin Dells (52-23), John Glenn (49-27), and Amery (39-29) in pool play to earn a #2 seed in their pool and qualify them for the championship bracket.  In tournament play they faced three previously undefeated teams.  The Pilgrims faced NLC foe Goshen in a tough opening round game and won by the score of 42-36.  In the 2nd Round, the Pilgrims defeated previously undefeated Boone Grove by the score of 34-33 on a three-point buzzer beater by Nick Felke.  In the championship game, they led Hillboro by 11 at the half only to see Hillsboro battle back to eventually take the lead late in the 2nd half.  The Pilgrims made some big plays down the stretch to pull out the hard-fought win.  Varsity team members included Nick Felke, Cam Eveland, Josh Anders, Trevor Neidlinger, Kadin McCrammer, Ryan Carmichael, Garrett Tharp, and Ty Irwin.
