UNION MILLS, IN – South Central High School senior Jennifer Salyer recently signed her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to play softball at Ancilla College.
Salyer, who pitches and plays second base for the 2015 Regional Champion Satellites, just completed her second varsity season and earned All-Porter County Conference accolades. During this season she was 9-5 with a 3.18 ERA, striking out 96 in 92 1/3 innings. At the plate, she hit .455 and led her team in hits (40), RBI (24), doubles (11), and home runs (2).
“Ancilla just felt like the right environment for me,” said Salyer.
“I think this will be a good fit for both Ancilla and Jen,” began Ancilla coach Scott Reese. “She will help us in multiple ways, especially in the circle and at the plate. Jen comes from a winning program and will bring that winning attitude with her, as well. I am excited that she has decided to be a part of the Ancilla softball family.”
Jennifer is the daughter of John and Jackie Salyer of LaPorte. While at Ancilla, she expects to major in Business Administration.
