Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to State Road 17 and State Road 8 Saturday evening about 8:30 for a two vehicle accident. Officer Matt Brown learned that 48 year old John Halloway of Chattanooga, IN was driving east on State Road 8 and stopped at State Road 17. He observed two vehicle traveling south on SR 17 preparing to turn west onto State Road 8. Halloway did not see a motorcycle traveling behind the two vehicles and pulled out striking the motorcycle on the right front side causing the motorcycle to fall over.
The driver of the Harley Davidson, 42 year old Earl England of Culver and his passenger were transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth and later flown to Memorial Hospital for the injuries they sustained in the crash.
A further investigation revealed that John Halloway had four outstanding warrants from other police agencies. He was taken into custody and held on those warrants.
