10/18/13 City Department heads presented their monthly reports for September during a special Wednesday night Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
Plymouth Police Chief Dave Bacon’s staff answered 745 calls for information, conducted 332 traffic stops, investigated 268 complaints and responded to 177 calls from the 9-1-1 dispatch center. City Officers conducted 109 investigations in September, attended to 61 civil matters, conducted 40 security checks, issued 1 $10 parking ticket and did 37 vehicle checks. Plymouth Police Officers made 23 traffic arrests, responded to 46 alarms and responded to 31 accidents. They made 26 criminal arrests, checked 21 suspicious vehicles, and investigated 21 theft reports.
Plymouth officers were dispatched to check on 26 juvenile complaints and the city’s K-9 Jax was used 21 times. Officers conducted 21 welfare checks, responded to 16 suspicious person complaints, and conducted 15 warrant services. Plymouth officers enacted the Merchant Protection Plan 6 times, located 2 open doors or windows, assisted with 3 lockouts and responded to 1 battery complaint.
Fire Chief Rod Miller’s Staff responded to 186 alarm situations in September. 142 of those calls were EMS incidents and 11 were medical assists. During September the emergency responders were dispatched to 9 false alarms and cancelled in route 7 times.
Fire situations in September include responding to 4 structure fires, 3 system or detector malfunction and 1 unintentional system operation. There were 2 vehicle fires and 2 natural vegetation fires.
Fire Chief Miller also presented a breakdown of the 186 calls in the county. Out of 186 alarms 124 of those alarms took place in Plymouth, 28 in West Township, 27 in Center Township, and 2 in LaPaz. Plymouth emergency crews also responded to 3 paramedic assists with Argos and 2 paramedic assists with Walkerton.
