PLYMOUTH, IN – Despite finishing fourth out of five teams at the Ancilla Fall Invitational, the Chargers golf team posted better numbers than previous years and continue to improve.

At Swan Lake where par is 72, Grand Rapids Community College clinched the win at 301. Muskegon Community College finished second (313), Oakland Community College claimed third (325), Ancilla was fourth (334), and Jackson College rounded out the field at fifth (336). Ancilla’s Spencer Mortola was a medalist at the event with a score of 73. Trailing just behind him for the Chargers, with 76, was Eric Davis.

“I am very happy for Spencer [Mortola] to get one of many medalist awards I expect him to earn the next two years. I am also very proud of Eric’s [Davis] four over par 76. He put on his hard hat and went to work after a triple bogey on his third hole,” beamed Charger coach Marc Hayden. He went on to further explain, “We had some atypical scores from the rest of the team, but those numbers will get corrected as we progress.”
