03/04/13 On Thursday, February 28th at 1:52 p.m. Officer John Weir with the Plymouth Police Department initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation at Oak Drive and Jefferson Street.
During the investigation of the traffic stop Officer Weir spoke with the driver and detected a strong odor of chemicals coming from inside the vehicle.
The occupants of the vehicle who were later identified as 35 year old Roy A. Atkins and his wife 32 year old Trudi A. Atkins of Plymouth were removed from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed an active meth lab in the back seat along with several other related meth items. Both subjects were taken into custody for manufacturing methamphetamine and was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held without bond.
