Anderson1NASHVILLE, IN – Brown County High School senior Dakota Anderson recently signed her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to play softball at Ancilla College.

Anderson, who is in her element on the left side of the diamond (SS/3B/LF), will earn her fourth varsity letter in softball this season for the Eagles and her eighth overall (three in basketball and one in cross country). She is a member of two Western Indiana Conference championships with Brown County and received the Coaches Award after her junior season. Anderson is a member of the Eagle Pride Club and Key Club while also staying active with the Angles Fastpitch travel organization. This fall with the Angels, Anderson hit .444 with a .528 slugging percentage and 1.028 OPS.

“When I went up for my visit, the beautiful campus made me feel like I was at home,” said Anderson as she described one of the aspects that led her to choose Ancilla.

“The term I continue to hear over and over again with Dakota is ‘competitor’,” began Ancilla coach Scott Reese. “It’s the intangibles like that in her personality that drew me to Dakota. I have a lot of confidence in the on the field production too, but those intangibles will help her game to continue to grow. I’m excited that Dakota has chosen to become part of the Ancilla softball family.”

While at Ancilla, Anderson plans on beginning her degree in General Studies.
