Wabash Little Giants got off to a quick start beating the Ohio Wesleyan Bishops 38-13.    Wabash (5-0, 4-0 NCAC) relied on its special teams Saturday to provide the spark. Houston Hodges scored the game’s first touchdown on a 56 yard punt return.

“We’ve gotten good special teams play to this point,” Wabash Head Coach Eric Raeburn said. “It’s been nice to score on special teams four-out-of-five games.”

After the Hodges touchdown, Ohio Wesleyan (3-2, 2-2 NCAC) responded. The Bishops converted three third downs on the 10-play drive, including an Espinosa 23-yard touchdown pass.

On the next series for Wabash Houston Hodges had 3 reception of 14, 11, and 14 yards for 3 crucial first downs. That drive culminated in a Wabash touchdown. From there the Little Giants never looked back building their lead to 28-7 at the half.

Houston Hodges finished the day with 4 catches for 44 yards and 3 punt returns for 78 yards on offense. Hodges also had 3 tackles and two pass break-ups on defense. The former Plymouth Rockie leads all Wabash receivers with 26 catches for 245 yards on the season and 2 touchdowns.
