02/11/13  Plans are continuing at Bremen Elementary/Middle School for the county-wide Marshall County Reading Council’s Young Authors’ Conference.  The conference this year will be Friday evening, April 19th at the host school in Bremen.  Guest author Michelle Houts will be speaking at the conference.  Her first book Beef Princess of Practical County is set in northern Indiana and is about a young girl who enters her calves in the local county fair (a relevant theme for Marshall County students).  Along with the guest author, the Bremen conference will feature a live animal exhibit presented by Bremen’s Future Farmers of America and county fair booths and games. Students may enter writing and poster contests for the conference.  Details about the contests may be obtained from a child’s school or from McKenzie at cmckenzie@bps.k12.in.us
