PLYMOUTH, INDIANA – The Ancilla College Lady Chargers had three players in double figures in their road game Saturday against the Lansing Community College Stars, but that wasn’t enough to come home with a win.  The Lady Chargers dropped their game 92-69 in Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference play.

The Lady Chargers (1-19, 1-10 MCCAA West) kept the game close in the first half and were only down by seven, but the Lady Stars turned up the heat in the second half to secure the win.

Brittany Cook (Florissant, MO, Forrest Park CC) led the Chargers with 21 points and four assists. Katrina Vannoy (Fountaintown, IN, Triton Central HS) added another 18 points for Ancilla while Natasha Ware (Indianapolis, Arlington, HS) had 16.

Chargers head coach Stephanie Beason said, “Lansing played really well and made some tough shots with hands in their faces.” Beason added, “We hung right with them through most of the first half but in the end, their depth and our limited numbers hurt us.”

The Chargers will be back at home on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. game against Lake Michigan College at the LifePlex.   WTCA radio’s Pre-Game Show begins at 5:20pm.
