BOURBON, IN. – The LaVille High School wrestling team participated in the 2023 Hoosier North Athletic Conference Championships Saturday at Triton High School.

The Lancers finished with three individual champions and five total wrestlers earned all-conference honors.

Congratulations go out to seniors Paul DeWitt and Mason Stepp, along with sophomore Jonathan Neese on earning individual championships and All-HNAC First-Team honors.  Also receiving all-conference honorable mention recognition include senior Jon Ziola and freshman Peyton Cline.

LaVille finished in second place as a team, just 1.5 points behind Winamac, 226.5 to 225.0.  Pioneer finished third.

DeWitt improved his overall record to 28-3, after a pin at the 0:38 mark of the championship match.

Stepp bumped his overall mark to 16-1 so far this season, following a pin at 1:21 in the championship match.

Neese, meanwhile, upped his season stats to 25-0 after a pin, also at the 1:21 mark in the finals.

LaVille is headed to the Plymouth Sectional as the Indiana High School Athletic Association state tournament begins on Saturday,  January 28.  The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
