The career of an Indiana State Trooper is a journey that can span decades serving the citizens of Indiana. Several local troopers from the Indiana State Police Bremen Post have a hit a career milestone of serving for twenty-five years. Lieutenant Chad Larsh, Sergeant Bruce Duhaime, and Sergeant Maurice Wilkins are all graduates of the 52nd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy that graduated June 4, 1995.
Lieutenant Chad Larsh has served at the Indiana State Bremen Post for his entire career. He was promoted to the position of Squad Sergeant in 2009. While in this position he supervised troopers in several counties as well as a special DUI Squad that focused on taking impaired drivers off the streets. In 2013 Larsh was promoted to Lieutenant to serve as the Bremen Post District Commander. During his time with the Indiana State Police, Larsh has served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), been on the Emergency Response Team (ERT) from 1996-2008, served on the Honor Guard from 1998-2019, and been very involved in the Marijuana Eradication Program.
Sergeant Bruce Duhaime was assigned to the Indiana State Police Toll Road Post after graduation. He served on the Toll Road for two years before transferring to the Bremen Post. Duhaime was promoted to Squad Sergeant in 2009. He served in this position until 2012 when he took a position on a task force in an undercover capacity. Duhaime was again promoted to Squad Sergeant in 2013 where he supervises troopers in Elkhart County. During his time with the Indiana State Police, Duhaime served on the Emergency Response Team (ERT) from 1998-2009, been involved with the Marijuana Eradication Program from 1998-2004, served in the Honor Guard from 2008-2013, and was also in the motorcycle program from 2005-2007 and certified in the High Performance Vehicle Program in 2008. Duhaime has been a Field Training Officer (FTO), Crash Reconstructionist, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and been actively involved in teaching at the Indiana State Police Academy.
Sergeant Maurice Wilkins was assigned to the Indiana State Police Toll Road Post after graduation. Wilkins was promoted to Corporal at the Toll Road Post in 1999. In 2003 he was promoted to Squad Sergeant at the Indiana State Police Lowell Post. In 2008 Wilkins became a Squad Sergeant at the Bremen Post. Wilkins has supervised troopers in several counties as well as supervisor of a DUI Squad that focused on taking impaired drivers off the streets. During his time with the Indiana State Police, Wilkins has served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), Field Training Officer Coordinator (FTOC), Advanced Crash Investigator, Special Projects Coordinator, and INDOT District Coordinator. Wilkins is an Indiana State Police Command School graduate and Reid School certified and currently attending the IMPD Commander School. Wilkins also served his community as a high school football coach for many years.
