National Police Week 2018Sunday, May 13 through Saturday, May 19 is National Police Week.   In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls, Police Week. This is a week to remember and honor fallen officers. Each year tens of thousands from around the national converge on Washington, DC to honor those that paid the ultimate sacrifice.   This week 129 officers, that were killed in the line of duty in 2017, will be remembered.

This year Plymouth FOP Lodge 195 along with Graphix Unlimited, Angie Kain Photography, Miller’s Merry Manor Assisted Living, GB Customs, The Coffee Lodge & Bakery, Sugar Shack, Pizza Hut, Rees Theater and others from the community are gathering together to show their support of local police officers.  As a small token of appreciation these local businesses are feeding the Plymouth Police Department and the officers at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department officers all week.

Miller’s Merry Manor has gone above and beyond to show their support by feeding ALL shifts at the following departments on Monday, May 14; Plymouth, Marshall County, Bremen, Bourbon and Argos. In addition the Rees Theater marquee will feature a special message of thanks during Police Week.

Angie Kain Photography has created a video which includes community members sharing their thanks to the officers for serving and protecting our communities as well as remembering those gone to soon.

The Plymouth FOP Lodge 195 will be delivering baskets to the departments in Marshall County that will include thank you cards from Project Kindness, snacks, beverages and think blue line shirts. All of this wouldn’t have been possible without Graphix Unlimited and GB Customs help. The FOP will also be remembering our local fallen officers by placing wreaths at Ray Reed’s memorial and Jim Nelson’s grave on Tuesday, May 15.

Please join with the community in support of the local Police Officers that protect and serve our community day in and day out.
