hit-and-runOn Saturday November 19, 2017 at approximately 6:12 A.M. the Marshall County Dispatch Center received a call of a single vehicle accident on Plymouth-Goshen Trail just east of Randolph Street.

Marshall County Officers were dispatched to the location to investigate the collision.  During the investigation it was learned that the 2005 Acura had been traveling west bound on Plymouth-Goshen Trail when the vehicle left the north side of roadway for unknown reason. The vehicle struck a utility pole causing power lines to come down onto the ground. After the vehicle collided with the utility pole, the vehicle continued a short distance into a field where it came to a stop.

The driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle and left the scene leaving a female passenger behind. The female passenger was wearing her safety belt and was not injured in the collision.

NIPSCO was contacted to assist with making the scene safe for emergency personnel and to repair the utility pole and down power lines.

Lyon`s Wrecker Service assisted with the removal of the vehicle after NIPSCO cleared the utility pole and power lines from the vehicle.

This collision is still under investigation.
