MeyerCropDONALDSON, IN – Rochester High School graduate Jamie Meyer has committed to the Ancilla Co-Ed Cheer team.

While on her high school cheer team, which was coached by Alison Butler and Lucas Schoenhals, Meyer was a base and a flyer. In addition to earning her Varsity Cheer letter, Meyer also earned Varsity letters in Choir and Wrestling as a manager. Meyer was also an active member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) for five years. She was awarded 2 bronze medals, 2 silver medals, and 2 gold medals during her time in FCCLA by completing and presenting projects to a judging panel. Awards were based on content, presentation, and professionalism.

Ancilla Head Cheer Coach Delia Nicholls is excited to work with Meyer. “Jamie is so strong. She’s a great base and has a lot of potential as a flyer,” says Nicholls. “Jamie isn’t afraid to try new stunts and skills, and that’s an important quality to have on a college cheer team.”

“Ancilla is the perfect fit for me because it is close to home,” comments Meyer. “I grew up being surrounded by my family and I didn’t want to go 3 hours away and miss being around them. I also have friends here, and I feel like I can relate to people here better than I could on a huge campus. I’m excited to further my education and career in a sport that I absolutely adore.”

Meyer is the daughter of Jim and Cindy Meyer. She plans to study Counseling in the fall.
