DONALDSON, IN – Ryan Quinn of Mishawaka, Indiana has been selected to lead the Ancilla Wrestling Team.
Quinn began his wrestling career in 6th grade, and continued wrestling throughout his time at Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati. Quinn then received an Athletic and Academic Scholarship to compete as a Division I wrestler at Central Michigan University. He wrestled for the Chippewas for the duration of his college career and was a Varsity Letter Winner, as well as a member of the Mid-American Conference Champion Team.
Quinn began coaching wrestling while still in college, planning and preparing youth summer wrestling camps. Last season, he coached at Niles High School, and led his team to multiple championships including SMAC Conference Champions, District Champions, and Regional Champions. Quinn’s team also had success at the State level, finishing Top Four, with six Individual Qualifiers, State Runner-Up, and two Individuals with All-State honors.
“Ryan’s credentials speak for themselves,” remarks Ancilla College Athletic Director Gene Reese. He can wrestle, he can coach, and he fits at Ancilla. I am excited Ryan decided to join the Charger Athletic Team.”
Quinn’s coaching philosophy is something he lives by, and aims to instill in all of his athletes. “The three things that will help you succeed in all areas of life are Faith, Family, and Friends,” says Quinn. “It is important to develop student-athletes into positive citizens that will properly influence their community.”
Ancilla College (www.ancilla.edu), part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 25 associate degrees, eight one-year certificates and 20 athletic programs. Since 1937, the college has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. It is a small, private, liberal arts school located two miles south of U.S. 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
