PSW_600 6-18-16It was an eventful evening at Plymouth Speedway Saturday night.  Sam Kimmel led the Dickies Restaurant 600 Open Sprint drivers around the Bull Ring for 17 laps before experiencing a problem and pulled off the track.  Chad Hartzell assumed the race lead and appeared as though he would win the race, but Aaron Davis made a last lap pass to claim the victory.  Dylan Woodling finished third.

PSW_StreetStock 6-18-16It was a memorable first race at Plymouth Speedway for Sheldon Oberle as he picked up the win in the Walmart Thunder Stocks feature.  The points leader, John Rhoads, led the opening laps of the race, but ran into the turn two wall after experiencing an issue with the car.  Oberle inherited the lead position while Wally Kerst raced into the second position by the halfway point of the race.  Jim Henson snuck into the third and final spot on the podium a few laps later.

PSW_ProSprints 6-18-16Kevin Atkins was atop the podium again this week in the Shepherd Firearms Pro Sprints feature.  Zane DeVault was able to claim the second spot while Garrett Saunders finished third.

PSW_WTCA_6-18-16In a time-shortened WTCA Super Street Feature, Roger Duszynski, Jr. picked up another win after battling Bob McLean for the top spot in the opening laps.  After a green-white-checkered outcome was announced, Shaun Wiltjer ran the top of the racing groove and took the third spot away from Preston Obelle as they crossed the start/finish line.

PSW_Modifieds 6-18-16Jamie Lomax raced his way from the third row to the front row in a matter of eight laps.  He would go on to win the race.  In the meantime, Derek Losh and Zeke McKenzie were battling door-to-door on the last lap of the race for the second running position.  They rounded turn four and Losh was able to finish ahead of pole-sitter McKenzie by one-tenth of a second.

Plymouth Speedway will have more exciting racing on Tuesday, June 21 when the track takes on a national audience for the Tony Elliott Speed Sport Challenge.  The 410 Non-Wing Sprints, Shepherd Firearms Pro Sprints and the Swan Lake Resort UMP Modifieds will be televised nationally on MAVTV.  The gates will open at 4 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. ET.  For ticket information, visitwww.plymouthspeedway.net.
