DONALDSON, IN – The Lady Charger basketball team returned after back to back defeats to win their first Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) conference game of the year over Grand Rapids Community College 107-82. This makes the team’s overall record 11-5 and 1-2 in the conference.

Ancilla, who shot 60% from the three point line, was led in scoring by Sophomore Khadijah Moore, who led all scoring with 30 points. Jasmine Love, who shot 80% from the three point line, along with Ashley Quezaire, and Bianca Maxwell, contributed 14 points each to the Charger victory and Maxwell led the team in rebounds with 10. Moore had nine rebounds and Love added seven assists.

“It was great to see us get back on track with our chemistry on the court,” Head Coach Tom Robbins said. “The ball was moving very well from player to player, which is something we had an issue with in our last game. We also shot the ball extremely well which helps everything run smoother. We also had a great defensive effort from Michelle Detwiler and Hannah Stolte as they guarded Grand Rapids’ best player and held her in check all game.”

The Chargers will be on the road Wednesday as they head to Kellogg Community College. Game time is set for 5:30p.m. The team will return home on Saturday, January 16th to face off against Glen Oaks Community College at 1:00p.m.
