DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College Men’s Soccer team, number one seed in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XII playoffs, were stunned to lose to Owen’s Community College, Saturday, a team that they had beaten twice in overtime in the regular season.

Despite dominating as the game began, the Chargers fell short when it came to pulling off a win. Owens jumped out with a goal in the 20th minute. Only to be answered in a minute by Kevin Fortes’ goal assisted by Romario Piggott. The first have would end in a 1-1 tie.

The second half saw Ancilla dominate the game but conceding a goal from a difficult angle. A rocket of a shot that would see the Chargers struggle to equalize.

“We had many chances from close range,” commented Charger Coach Dave Jacobs. “We just couldn’t seem to find the back of the net.”

The Chargers ended their season 13-3-1 overall, 7-1 at home and 7-1 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association.
