Active-Shooter-PreparednessOne of the harsh realities that every community across the United States has to prepare and train for is the possibility of an Active Shooter Incident.  On Thursday, July 9th, area law enforcement agencies along with Plymouth fire and EMS met at Menominee Elementary School in Plymouth to participate in annual Active Shooter Training.

Each year the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department selects a different school throughout Marshall County and invites all law enforcement agencies throughout the county to attend.  Law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel were presented with different scenarios involving an active shooter in a school.

Law enforcement instructors from Marshall County, Plymouth and Bourbon Police Departments designed this training to be as realistic as possible and invoke tactical decision making.

Law enforcement training alongside fire and EMS also provides all personnel a different point of view and builds strong working relationships.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department would like to thank Plymouth Community Schools for once again allowing them to utilize one of their facilities as well as all law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel that attended.
