potawatomi-Wildlife-Park_logoPotawatomi Wildlife Park has been the host site for the annual Volksmarch event for several years. Sponsored and operated by the Hoosier Hikers Club, walkers can do either a 5K, about 3 miles or the 10K, approximately 6 mile walk on Saturday, May 30th.

The event route incorporates an existing trail system centered upon the historic Tippecanoe River and a former Potawatomi encampment. The trails are mostly flat and meander through mostly wooded area.

You may start the walk anytime between 9:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.  although there is a group walk at 10:00 A.M.   You can walk at your own pace and the idea is to enjoy the nice early spring weather, get some exercise and meet new people. There is no problem if you walk a shorter or longer distance.

Cost on the day of the event is $7.00. In addition to event registration participants are encouraged to register as a park guest and make a donation to the Park.  Pets allowed, but must be kept on a leash and owners need to pick up after their pet.
