Could a Hampton Inn be Coming to Plymouth

Tuesday evening, March 21^st the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission held its regular monthly meeting in the Council Chambers of City Hall. 

City Attorney Sean Surrisi told members he anticipates advancing some documents for a hotel project next month that will be on Miller Drive between Mancino’s and the Aquatics Center. 

This was a project proposed several years ago when the aquatics center was being built.  The project was shelved for a while and then COVID hit and delayed any further action.  The local developer is looking at getting the project back underway in the not-too-distant future.

During Wednesday’s “What’s Your Opinion Show” the Executive Director of Marshall County Economic Development Commission, Greg Hildebrand confirmed that plans call for a 4-story Hampton Inn to be built on the site.

The developer, Plymouth Hospitality LLC will be seeking a Tax Abatement for the project.  The City Council is expected to consider the first step in the tax abatement process at its next meeting on Monday, March 27^th.
