The Marshall County Drainage Board and County Commissioner will meet Monday morning beginning at 8:30 in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building.

The Drainage Board will discuss the request for a culvert extension from Norfalk Properties, formerly known a County Auto Center on North Michigan Road.  Last month the request to enclose a portion of the open ditch to allow for the movement of vehicle from the current car lot to the property just to the north of the ditch.  The drainage board had concerns since the work on the ditch had happened several years ago to fix a flooding issue.  The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission has helped to pay for the improvement along with several local property owners in the area.  The drainage board wanted Norfalk Properties to contact those who participated in funding the last project to get their input on the request.

Drainage Board members will be updated by County Surveyor Craig Cultice on drainage projects and other miscellaneous business.

The County Commissioners meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30. Their agenda includes a report from the County Highway Department, the quarterly report from Older Adult Services, a requet to apply for the 2021 EMPG Grant from the EMA Director and Sheriff Hassel will present an intergovernmental agreement to house inmates in the Elkhart County Jail.

The Commissioner will also hear about the election redistricting from Deb VanDeMark of the County Election Board while Faith Chapman from the Health Department will seek approval of a PHEP Grant.  Also Doug Masterson from Buildings and Grounds will discuss the Courthouse and the Clocktower while the County Attorney Jim Clevenger and Auditor Julie Fox will give their reports.

The County meetings are open to the public and comments and questions are always welcome.
