OWI_Drinking and DrivingOn Sunday, April 25th, at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon Marshall County deputies responded to a report of a possibly impaired driver.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle in the area of U.S. 30 and King Road. After an investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle, Marion Bates, 64, of Gary was intoxicated.

Bates was lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a BAC of .15 or more and given a cash bond $1,500.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed.
