Plymouth wrestlers continue pursuit with Regional titles

MISHAWAKA — Plymouth wrestled at the Penn Regional Saturday qualifying eight wrestlers for the East Chicago Semi-
State.
Plymouth finished with a team score of 101, good enough for a fifth place finish.
Rockie Graham Calhoun extended his undefeated record with a fall over Josh Hicks from SB Riley.
Plymouth got a win from Max Howard in the 120-pound weight class. Howard earned a fall over Maxx Szucs form SB Clay. Dominic Smith kept things rolling with a fall over Malque Hobbs from South Bend Washington.
At 138 pounds, Jordan Howard won by fall over Miguel Penaloza from South Bend Clay. Tyler Richey continued the Rockie’s run with a fall over Austin Wills from SB Clay.
Bradey Pittman contributed with a 9-4 win over Amarion Parker from South Bend Saint Joseph. Diego Garcia added a win with a fall over Elijah Reynolds from SB Washington.
Andrew Himes finished the round with a fall over Garrett Sandefur from Mishawaka.
Coach Rust was pleased with how the Plymouth wrestlers did on the day, “All in all I thought we wrestled a great first round setting us up to qualify eight wrestlers for next week’s Semi-State,” he said.
