Walorski award 2019For the fourth consecutive year, White Coat Waste Project is proud to announce the recipients of its Laurie and Carlee McGrath Congressional Waste Warrior Awards. The award recognizes Members of Congress who have demonstrated outstanding leadership to expose and stop $20 billion in wasteful and unnecessary taxpayer-funded animal experiments, an effort supported by a majority of Americans. Below are our 2019 honorees, who will receive their awards during private presentations.

This watchdog group is concerned with animal experimentation and presented Congresswoman Jackie Walorski with one of the awards.

The organization says Walorski helped lead efforts to pass and enact historic legislation directing the Dept. of Veterans Affairs to phase-out dog, cat and primate testing by 2025 and introduced legislation to retire healthy animals from federal labs when testing ends.  Walorski also introduced FACT Act to improve government agencies’ reporting on progress to end animal tests.

The White Coat Waste Project presented the 2nd District Representative with one of their 2019 Congressional Waste Warrior awards. It reflects what the group calls her “outstanding leadership in ending wasteful and cruel taxpayer-funded animal experimentation.”
