Weather_Winter_AdvisoryThe National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory which will go into effect from 7pm (EST) this evening until 7am (EST) Saturday morning.

A mix of snow (1-3 inches) and ice (up to 1/10 of an inch) is expected.  Areas north of U.S. 30 may see up to 4 inches of snow.

Precipitation will start as snow this evening into early Saturday morning.  The snow will transition to a wintry mix of sleet, snow, and freezing rain late tonight into the overnight hours and should become all rain by the afternoon on Saturday.

 

IMPACTS:  Hazardous driving conditions may lead to an increase in the number of traffic accidents and slide-offs.

 

PREPAREDNESS ACTION:  Slow down and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination. Increase your following distance

“Advisory” level travel advisory implemented.  An Advisory level is the lowest level of the three travel restrictions that the county utilizes.  An “Advisory” level travel advisory simply means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in some areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.
