Hodge PatelLast week, Hodge Patel announces his candidacy for St. Joseph County Commissioner, District 3 in the upcoming 2020 election.

Hodge has accumulated over 20 years of experience in leadership positions in the public sector working as State and Regional Directors for United States Senators Joe Donnelly and Evan Bayh, and a Field Representative for U.S. Congressman Tim Roemer.

In making his announcement, Hodge stated;  “I am excited to make this announcement today because I love this community and believe that this is a crucial moment where fresh, innovative, and dynamic leadership is essential to ensure we have a strong future. Status quo decision making just isn’t good enough anymore. It’s time to start finding new solutions to old problems and that’s exactly what I plan to do.”

Former U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly has signed on as the Chairman of Hodge’s campaign and former South Bend School Board member Michelle Engel will be campaign treasurer.

In referring to his initial team, Hodge stated;  “I am so honored to have the support of Mrs. Engel and Senator Donnelly. They are both shining examples of public servants and I couldn’t ask for better mentors. We have set some lofty goals for this campaign and will be working hard to earn the confidence of voters.”

Hodge was raised in St. Joseph County and is a long standing resident and is the son of a retired postal worker and small business owner. Hodge earned a BA in Political Science and Economics from the University of Notre Dame, is the father of four children, and is married to Ali, a successful small business owner.

Commissioner District 3 encompasses eastern St. Joseph County including most of the city of Mishawaka and portions of South Bend.
