Glenn girls fourth in NIC
NAPPANEE — Glenn’s golf team took a 4th place finish in the NIC Girls Golf Tournament at McCormick’s Creek In Nappanee.
Penn claimed the tourney championship with a 322 score in a crowded 13 team field.
St. Joe was runner-up followed by S.B.Adams with a 387. A young Glenn team was two strokes back at 389 Tied with Marian but took the 4th position based on a 5th player score tiebreaker.
Other team scores — New Prairie 415, Elkhart Central 419, Bremen 419, Mishawaka 461, Washington 461, Clay 513, Jimtown 520, Riley 521.
Medalist was Penn’s Lycia Li with score of 70. Runner-up was Rosa Trippel of Marian 77, followed by Penn’s Grace Szklarek 77. Megan Kobelt of John Glenn placed 7th with an 89. Other Glenn scores were Abby Machnic 94, Emma Egger 102, Jessica Yelaska 104, and Cassidy McMahan 106.
Bremen Scores — Kailey Simmons 91, Jessica Hochstetler 112, Alayna Ross 101, Miranda Starke 115, Grace Mikel 129.
Girl’s golf sectionals will be played this coming Friday and Saturday.
