Academy shoots past Argos girls

CULVER — The Argos Lady Dragons took on the Culver Academy Lady Eagles after a lightening filled sky altered plans on Thursday delaying the game until Saturday at the Academy and took a tough 3-1 loss.
Both teams were eager to duel in a cross county conference game.
Argos was able to score early off of a Lizzy Edmonds cross that was perfectly placed for Sydney Shepherd to head the ball into the back of the net, putting the Dragons up 1-0 in the 11th minute.
The score would remain the same as the buzzer would sound off for the completion the first half, with both teams having great opportunities, but neither able to convert in a defensive duel.
In the second half the Lady Eagles came out hot putting the pressure on the Dragons, but it wasn’t until the middle of the second half that they were able to find the back of the net.
In the approximately the 70th minute the Academy broke the tie pushing the score up to 2-1.
Both teams found scoring opportunities tough until the last 10 minutes that the final goal of the game was scored
Argos is now 6-3 on the season. The #6 ranked (1A) Dragons had 5 shots on goal in compared to the 9 shots by the Eagles.
