NewsThe Marshall County Community Corrections Advisory Board will have a few new faces on it as the County Commissioners made three appointments this week to the board.

Ward Byers, Director of Operations told the commissioners on Monday that Will Hostrawser from the LaVille School Corporation who filled the education administrator position and Terry Clemens who was the layperson on the board both recently resigned due to their work load and other things going on in their lives.

Byers presented two recommendations to fill the vacancies from citizens who have expressed interest and are willing to serve.  Plymouth Community School Superintendent Andy Hartley as the educational administrator and David Hinderlider the plant manager of ITAMCO in Argos as the layperson.  They will serve on the board until the end of this year when those two positions are up for reappointment.

Byers said there is a third position on the Advisory Board that they have never filled.  That position is a former client or x-offender position.  He said he reached out to a former client, Michael VanVactor and he has agreed to serve a four year term on the board.

State legislation created a diverse group to serve on the advisory board.  Marshall County Community Corrections Advisory Board members include: Circuit Court Judge Curt Palmer, Superior Court 1 Judge Robert Bowen, Superior Court Judge II Dean Colvin, Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter, Prosecutor Nelson Chipman,  Sheriff Matt Hassel, CASA Director Chastity Keller, James Pheibush and James Bendy from Probation, James Brown, Michael Carroll from DCS, Kathleen Davidson, Francis Ellert and Sam Schlosser.
