LionsClub_Ken Lukenbill and Lions Club Pres Doug Feece 3-2019Plymouth Lions Club member Ken Lukenbill was honored at the last meeting of the Plymouth Lions club.  A letter was presented from Lions International President Gudrum Yngvadottir stating that it was with great pleasure that she present him with the Senior Master Key and Medallion for sponsoring 25 new members during his career as a Lion.  She asked him to wear the pin and medallion with honor knowing that his dedication has positively impacted many people, and will for years to come.  These individuals include members who have become part of the international family of Lions, as well as those from communities who will benefit from the service this Lions will provide.

The growth of the organization depends entirely on Lions Club members who bring service-minded people together to work on behalf of humanity.  This dedication has increased the effectiveness in our communities and paved a trail for future generations of Lions.

Joan Cartwright from St Joe Health Systems gave an interesting and informative presentation about various Outreach Programs available.  Just one of the many aspects discussed was about Advanced Care Planning which is a free service of St Joe Health Systems. It was stressed that each person should make the decision on what will happen to them if incapacitated and have their Health Care Representative with them as they outline their decisions.  In many cases if your Health Care Representative is your spouse, you may want a second Health Care Representative in the event you are both incapacitated at the same time.

Several donations and contributions were approved by the club.  The various fundraisers throughout the year afford the club to be able to give back to the community.  There is a leader in every Lions.  A Lion leader has two hands, one to serve the community and one to serve Lions club members.  It doesn’t matter what your title is.  It doesn’t matter if you have ever seen yourself as a leader.  Leadership isn’t about inspiring followers, but about inspiring more leaders….a Lions serves.  If you or anyone you know wants to join the Plymouth Lions Club, please contact any Lions Club member.
