Stellar County logoThe steering committee for the Marshall County Crossroads Stellar projects will submit another application for this year’s stellar grant.  During Monday’s Plymouth Common Council meeting, City Attorney Sean Surrisi said committee met with representatives from OCRA (Office of Community & Rural Affairs) in January and received “very good feedback” on their application from last year.  He said, “You had to reading between the lines a little bit of what they said.”  He said one of the applications was further ahead and we all felt it was probably a coin flip between us and the second group who won.

While the application was very good the steering committee wants to regroup and build upon what was presented.  They also plan to reach out to others to get involved and engage other participants.

Surrisi said last year all the communities involved contributed including $15,000 from the County, $1,000 from LaPaz and $5,000 each from Culver, Bourbon, Bremen and Argos.  The city attorney said Plymouth’s payment didn’t get processed last year so he was requesting $10,000…$5,000 for last year and $5,000 for this year.

The Plymouth Common Council was supportive of moving forward with this year’s application and funding for the application.

The Stellar application is due in early April.
