CatheftOfficers from the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to the Plymouth Walmart on Friday, December 7th just after 10 p.m. for a theft that had occurred.

While en-route to the scene Wal-Mart’s loss prevention said that the two male suspects had left the store.  They were able to give a vehicle description and a direction of travel.

The vehicle was located and stopped at 10:16 by Marshall County Officer Smith at the Napa Auto Parts Store parking lot on North Michigan Road. During the traffic stop the items stolen from Walmart were located inside the vehicle.

The two males suspects were identified as 28 year old Leon Burnett and

During the traffic stop and investigation it was discovered that Burnett had a warrant for parole violation. It was also discovered that Hamilton was operating on a suspended driver`s license.

A handgun, marijuana, and the suspected stolen phone were also located during the traffic stop.

Both men were lodged for carrying a handgun without a license, theft, and possession of marijuana.

Later charges of serious violent felon in possession

of a handgun would be brought against Leon Burnett.

 Both men are currently being held in the Marshall County Jail with cash bonds of $10,000 each.

The Marshall County Sheriff`s Department was assisted on the scene by the Plymouth Police Department.
