MugShot_11-1-18Rachelle Meyers, 34, of Bremen, was sentenced by agreement on Thursday, November 1st, in Marshall Superior Court No. 1.  Meyers was sentenced to serve 6 years imprisonment at the Indiana Department of Correction for a Level 4 felony of Dealing Methamphetamine.  The State agreed with her attorney, Stanley Wruble, that she seek treatment services while in the Department of Correction.  Judge Robert O. Bowen approved the agreement between Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Tami Napier and defense attorney Stanley Wruble.

In open court, Meyers admitted that on December 18, 2017 at 404 Whitlock Street in Bremen she sold more than 3 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant.  Meyers was present when the buy occurred and participated in the price negotiation and delivery of methamphetamine.

The case began in 2017 when the Marshall County Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team worked with a confidential informant to identify, record and document drug transactions taking place in Marshall County.  Meyers and her codefendant acted in concert to effectuate the sale of methamphetamine at their residence in Bremen.

Prosecuting Attorney Nelson Chipman was pleased with the outstanding work of the undercover detectives involved in the investigation.  Chipman added, “Methamphetamine use is abuse.  There is simply no way to be a user and avoid being an addict.  However, making available methamphetamine for sale in our community is an act that, with all certainty, destroys families and communities.  This is a nationwide disaster that has made its way into our community. The prosecution of methamphetamine dealing in Marshall County has been a priority of my office and will remain so until it is clear to dealers that it will simply not be tolerated in our community.”
