On October 25th Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team (UNIT) Officers, along with the assistance of Indiana State Police, Plymouth Police and Marshall County Police, located and arrested Trudi Atkins in the 10,000 block of Muckshaw Road. Mrs. Atkins was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants for dealing in methamphetamine. She also has an active warrant out of Starke County. She is currently lodged at the Marshall County Jail with a $75,000 cash bond.
On Wednesday October 31, 2018 UNIT Officers, along with the assistance of Marshall County Police and Culver Police, arrested David Rearick and
Adam Shidler after officers observed what they believed to be a narcotics deal near Culver. Both men are being held without bond at the Marshall County Jail.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
