AgDayLogoThe Marshall County Ag Day Committee is holding an event to promote the value of agriculture to the community.  The Ag Day program is held at Centennial Park by the old horse barn in Plymouth, on Thursday, September 13.  During the day from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm there will be several educational displays pertaining to Marshall County Agriculture for area residents to view.

The goal of the committee is to highlight the importance of Marshall County Agriculture in raising our food and economic benefits to our local economy.

Marshall County Ag Day sponsors are Marshall County Farm Bureau, Culver Young Farmers, Marshall County Dairy Association, North Central Beef Cattle Association, Marshall County SWCD, Marshall County 4-H Council and Junior Leaders,  Purdue Extension, Case IH-North Central Agri-Power, Farm, Gilsinger Implement Co. Inc., Milk Promotions, Indiana Poultry Association, Indiana Dairy Council, Indiana Beef Cattle Association, Indiana Soybean Alliance, Indiana Pork Producers, and Indiana Corn Marketing Council

For this day event, the committee will have educational displays on dairy cattle, beef cattle, poultry, swine, sheep, goats, draft horses, natural resource conservation, crop production, farm safety, nutrition, electrical safety, honeybees and 4-H program. If you have time over your lunch hour or throughout the day, please stop by the park and check out our displays or call to schedule a time.  If you are a fulltime homemaker, this is a great activity for you to learn about our agricultural industry that raises food you purchase in area grocery stores or farmers’ markets.

If you plan to bring a group of individuals to attend the day activity, we would appreciate you calling the Marshall County Extension Office at (574) 935-8545, so that we can be prepared for you.  We already have a busy schedule planned for the day with area 3rd graders coming to the event.  Again, the Marshall County Ag Day Committee will be holding an event in Centennial Park in Plymouth on Thursday, September 13th, from 8:30 am through 2:30 pm in the afternoon.  Stop by and celebrate local Agriculture with us! Thank You Farmers!
